The opposition needs a leader who is consistent in his values of justice and fairness for the long-term credibility of his political career in this world and the life in the next. Seriously, every citizen needs such a leader. Materialistic, non-conscious conscience men will agree with V Sivapalan's laments .
It is imperative that Anwar Ibrahim continue to be steadfast in his quest for justice, which is meant not only for him but for us all now and for the future generations.
Corrupt leaders and ideals of the BN continue to hold on to power and all the wealth in the country. This seems to be the agenda behind all the hoo-hah about development and distribution of wealth to the people. A system that allows unlimited possession of the country's wealth and power among a circle of elite smells really rotten for the people who are deliberately made ignorant of the real facts of life in Malaysia. Simply turn to the national mass media, and look at the shameful one-sided reports and news to sway people's positive perception of the opposition. A glaring and blatant injustice.
On top of that how many police reports and others from the opposition have been left to stack at various offices around the country? When a society allows such state of affairs to continue, there will soon be the destruction of everything that upholds the system and notably in a timing unbeknown or even unexpected by anyone of us.
If anyone ever understood Anwar's idealism in wanting harmony in a multi-racial and religious country as well as in the global arena, she will be supporting his every move in or out of prison.
It is too late to simply forgive at this stage. There are numerous implications, so many legal and political actions need correction. Anwar cannot simply forget what has happened to him and to live on like nothing has ever happened. Yes, you are a sentimental fool, Sivapalan.
I seriously believe that Anwar should heed the lesson, that there should be no turning back to Umno and BN that has always been the same since its time of inception in materialistic ideology.
If Umno retracts its ways ... maybe ... but at this moment, there is no proof or sign of that happening.
