BlueRider's letter re-confirming the need for Malay special rights once again amuses me. It makes one think that why after all these years that a person like BlueRider is only interested in ensuring that his special rights are protected?
Doesn't he/she know that Malay rights were not the biggest issue for the11th general election? Can we please ask BlueRider, what is it that the government has not done for the Malays? Have they not provided all the financial assistance for you to study? Have they not given you more seats in the universities compared to the other races? Have they not created many contracts only for the Malays? Have they not made many undeserving Malays rich? Don't they still ensure that the Malays are given discounts for buying houses?
One mind boggling question I have for BlueRider is that why a country that has the tallest twin towers in the world, one of the biggest airports in this region, a MultiMedia Super corridor, advanced highways, skyscrapers all over the city is still unable to ensure that all its children are given a basic education? Isn't this the type of right that someone like you should be championing instead of dwelling on your own personal, special rights?
Ask yourself another question BlueRider: Why is it that poor, Malay children in the kampungs not given an education that will allow them to compete with city kids and meet skilled labour shortages in this country?
Please BlueRider, don't threaten the other races in this country with your scary stories about PAS being the government and all. The true fact is that people of all races in Kelantan and Terengganu were not able to enjoy the wealth of the nation due to the rivalry between the two biggest Malay parties. So stop throwing spikes at the rest of us when the issue is confined to the Malays themselves.
Don't forget that there have been many promises made by BN this time around and people like myself, although very critical about the unfairness of the government, have placed my solemn trust in Pak Lah to bring about changes to this nation.
So let the new CEO of Malaysia Inc do his work please. I am sure he will be able to determine what's best for his own people.
Oh yes, BlueRider, if you think that the votes of the other races did not matter in the recent election, then you have no clue what you are talking about.
