I am responding to the letter by David Tan, available at your website.

There are some factual inaccuracies in David's letter, such as the claim that the CIA and Mossad established the Hamas terrorist group.

As far as I know, Hamas was never established by the CIA or Mossad but by the government of Iran, a terrorist sponsor as listed by the US State Department. The vast majority of Hamas members are Syiahs who want a Shi'ite theocratic state in Palestine. These Syiahs deny the state of Israel's right to exist.

While I support an independent Palestine, I believe the Palestinian Authority led by Yassir Arafat must do more, including arresting militants, to prove themselves committed to the peace process.

Until this happens, I personally believe peace is impossible and the war will be endless as Israel to needs to defend itself.

Aside for that, I am very thankful that my beloved Malaysia has been at peace for 47 years and I am indeed happy that the Barisan Nasional has won a whopping majority crushing the Taliban-like PAS party.
