From the adverse opinions and the feedback this forum has received, I feel the NS programme was belated and a badly planned one.

I would suggest that the best way is to start training our youngsters is when they are young or when they are 'malleable'.

Make it compulsory for all students to join the Boy Scouts or Girl Guides (with enhanced modules to suit our NS objectives).

All the present NS objectives can be achieved if the authorities just open up their minds and ponder upon them rather than doggedly defending this ill-conceived plan which has given parents jitters and nightmares.
