'What I am trying to say is that parents must wake up to the reality that Malaysians have never had it so good as they have today and that things will get better,' says Neil Khor.

I can't understand why Khor, who claims to be highly educated, would use himself as an example to prove his points. How could one be happy about the education system, when in his time education was harder as opposed to now.

Is he suggesting that we should rejoice over our poor education? Please do not confuse quality with quantity.

'It is about time that we pull our socks up and make the best of what we get,' he adds.

Khor is right. But if his father sells ice cream and his mother works as a maid, would he say the same thing?

I might not be as highly educated as Khor and definitely not as rich as him. I don't think I stand a chance of getting into a local university, let alone compete with him.

Khor, my sincere suggestion to you is to come down to my level and see for yourself. Even better, sponsor a couple of needy students.
