It is good to see Shahrir Abdul Samad back in Parliament and in Umno's good books after an unreasonable hiatus.

I applaud his recent efforts, including research, to make the Backbenchers Club more effective for Umno and the Barisan Nasional.

I hope that MPs like Shahrir Abdul Samad nwould also see to the upgrading of the library in parliament. I think the latter is also very necessary for the work of parliamentarians.

Once in a while we hear opposition MPs complaining about research facilities in the Parliament House.

I have friends who had tried accessing the parliament library in their work for opposition MPs and they said that the state of the library is appalling.
