It is sad that for most of my life (I'm more than 60 years old), I have observed that the Muslims have consistently failed to provide for the faiths of others. Everything is alright for a while, and then it starts again.

It is as if there is this obsession with 'halal' and 'non-halal'. In our neighbour's universities, there are two kitchens, one for the Muslims and the other for non-Muslims. The vegetarians use the Muslim kitchen because Indian Muslims run the Muslim kitchen.

But in this country you don't find the non-Muslims being catered for. Take it or leave it, appears to be the attitude. In the Chinese-medium schools, there are facilities for Muslims as well.

Can you imagine the chaos if Muslims are not catered for? But catering for the non-Muslims is a no-no; it shows you are weak towards the non-Muslims. You (the non-Muslilm) must understand and give way to their (Muslim) sensitivities - not the other way around.

This is a never ending drama which rears its head every now and then. I still have hopes of seeing that the needs of other faiths are catered for, although I doubt very much it will ever happen.
