When you have the butcher, the baker and the candlestick maker in one boat, there is always a tendency to gain as much superiority as possible over the others and implement one’s own ideas and rules as to how the boat should be steered.

The odd alliance in this case, acts as an advantage to exercise ones own power, strength and ideology.

We voted for a change and that is for the coalition of Pakatan Rakyat and definitely not for PAS or DAP or PKR as an individual entity.

Going against the wishes and inspiration of the supporters in particular and the coalition members in general, tantamount to a stab in the back and a total betrayal of trust.

A loose fit and a fickle-minded alliance can be worse than what we are accustomed to today. It may even turn out to be casting pearls before swine.

What is more damaging is their constant bickering and washing their dirty linen in public.

What is happening in Kelantan can be considered as the precedent to engulf the whole nation in the near future. Even the opposition wants to get onto the bandwagon to gain some mileage.

In a democratic process, it is of paramount importance for the party to listen to the rakyat rather than taking the power in hand and majority rule as an advantage to do as it wishes.

Unless the coalition of Pakatan Rakyat unites as a trustworthy and a united force taking into consideration the interest and welfare of all Malaysians, then it is doomed and its insatiable desire to gain power, remains only an illusion.

It may not be an easy task in a nation with a diversity of race and religion, playing a prominent role in politics and it being employed at a feverish level to further alienate and confuse a worried citizenry.

However, with a concerted effort at being a nation first before self-attitude, we can make the change to alleviate all suspicions, apprehensions and fears.

Politics, flavoured with race and religion, has become a very effective way to create a disunity within a unity which worked so well in the past when politics remained free of race and religion.

Humanity is the source of our very existence.
