I would like to respond to the letter Capitilising on Christ's passion .

Personally, I don't quite connect with the level of angst that came from ADP.

ADP seems to take the crucifixion of Christ personally. I don't know who ADP is, but why the bad review? Does the movie hit a raw nerve? As a Christian, I think The Passion of Christ is a good depiction of the last 24 hours of Christ's life, although Mel Gibson did have his own personal interpretation by way of artistic leeway.

The theme of the movie is based on the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John). Any Christian worth his salt would agree with me that it is what that is recorded in the Bible. The movie is not there to point fingers at any particular group of people or characters.

The movie is thought provoking and it is up to the individual to interpret and ponder upon it. In a way, I am glad that The Passion was made as it is also a tool by which the Gospel can be spread. After all, no one is forced to see the movie.

'Faith is personal and should remain so. Dragging it through the pages of movie reviews is not the way one should analyse one's faith. It is also not a forum for others to criticise, question or comment upon a person's personal beliefs," says ADP.

Faith is personal, I do agree with that. It is between you and your maker. But personally, I believe that reading the various views and comments of others not only strengthens my faith, but also leads one to want to find out more about the faith.

I don't feel insulted if others question my faith, but rather see it as an opportunity to tell them more about my faith, in order to show what I believe in is from my heart. It is up to them to come to their own conclusions, but the important thing is to tell them about what you believe in without resorting to violence or name calling.

I believe this movie is a great tool for all Christians to tell others about Christ and what He means to them.
