I wish to register my strongest protest to the authorities in Thailand for the blatant disregard of human decency in the acts perpetrated by their security forces that ultimately led to the massacre of 78 lives due to 'suffocation' whilst in the midst of being transported to the detention centres.

I do not dispute the right of the Thai security personnel to take whatever legal means provided for in the constitution of that kingdom in quelling and trying to disperse the unruly crowd that were agitating against the detention of a few of their compatriots at a police station.

However, after having successfully apprehended a substantial number of those amongst the crowd, having disarmed those who were initially armed, having stripped them half-naked and having tied their hands around their backs, I am utterly disgusted to hear that 78 died from 'suffocation' while being sent to the detention centres!

How could this be? A professional security outfit is expected to be not only good in handling violent crowds but also adept at handling those whom they have apprehended. In this case, many more died after being detained as compared to those killed whilst they were demonstrating.

No, my protest is definitely not an 'interference' in the internal affairs of the Thai kingdom, but, simply a purely human plea to the Thai security forces for basic decency when handling those apprehended.

My sympathies goes to the families of those who have lost their loved ones in this pitiful tragedy that should never have occurred in the first place. But, my greatest sympathy goes to the government of the Kingdom of Thailand, which may now have to bear the brunt of violent retaliation from those alienated by this brutal act.
