Anybody who has seen the pictures of the bodies of Thai Muslims, and not feel flabbergasted by the action of the Thai authorities, is insensitive to the suffering of his fellow being.

We learn form our history textbooks how native Indians died in Calcutta when they were confined in crowded cells by the British colonisers. What we see in the pictures show living humans, not corpses mind you, were made to lie two or three deep (or even more after the pictures was taken) on their faces with their hands tied to their backs.

Is it difficult to imagine why many of them died? And yet Thaksin Shinawatra was quoted to have blamed the death of his citizen Muslims on fasting fatigue. This senseless treatment of human lives should be condemned by the whole world and go down in history as an event that is worse than "The black hole of Calcutta".
