I refer to the recent statement by Pahang Menteri Besar Adnan Yaakob that he will not be revealing to the authorities those involved in money politics at the recent Umno general assembly as his first duty was to protect his close friends.
I think Adnan should be charged for withholding information. I am sure as a menteri besar, he is fully aware that he is duty-bound to report criminal activities, including corruption, to the police or the Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) just like any other good citizen should do.
After all, if an undergraduate from University Utara Malaysia can be investigated for giving birth out of wedlock, why shouldn't people who withhold criminal information be similarly investigated?
Who deserves compassion? The female undergraduate or Adnan Yaacob?
