I refer to the letter Anwar wrong to call Dr M old in which the author feels upset with Anwar Ibrahim for calling Dr Mahathir Mohamad 'old'.

First of all I would like to remind the letter writer that Mahathir has called Anwar a sodomist and many other vulgar names in which he (Dr M) has not dared utter even once in a court of law. As a Muslim, I believe Anwar has high moral values and will not to resort to calling Mahathir vulgar names as he is too much a Muslim to utter them.

Remember, it was Mahathir who called the Chinese 'communists' just a few years ago - not Anwar Ibrahim or even Kelantan Menteri Besar Nik Aziz Nik Mat.

I would like to point out that Anwar suffered six years in pain and in prison isolated from any other inmate for a crime the authorities couldn't even frame properly. Did Mahathir ever suffer such a injustice?

As for cronies that Anwar was purported to have paid out, let's open our eyes and see who is travelling the world in a Petronas private jet nowadays. Anwar has only one house and two cars, assets which are negligible when compared to some Umno divisional heads.

Some say that Anwar was a weak leader because he has fallen into poverty but I believe that this poverty is proof of his innocence and high moral standing.

True, Anwar is after all human and has made mistakes in the past. But did any of these mistakes include keeping a man away in prison after a trial based on fabricated evidence?
