As a follower of Jesus Christ, I feel sad that some Christian leaders have been politicised by the government and refuse to uphold even the most fundamental aspect of our belief that Christmas is a day to commemorate the birth of Our Lord and Saviour.

The attempt to 'de-Christianise' Christmas on the part of some Christian leaders is indeed scandalous and treacherous. Christians have always welcomed our friends of the Islamic, Buddhist, Hindu, Sikh, Taoist and other faiths or belief-systems to share our joy.

I am sure all good Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, Sikhs, Taoists and believers of other religions respect the faith and tradition of Christians.

In other words, there is no need to compromise or dilute our faith and tradition apologetically under the politicised pretext of preserving the harmony of a multi-ethnic and multi-religious society.

Making friends and preserving social harmony is no excuse to sell out one's faith and tradition.
