Firstly, I take this opportunity to sincerely laud the Malaysian public for the unprecedented display of care and concern as evidenced in their unflinching generous contributions to the myriad of 'Tsunami disaster funds' established by so many well-meaning organisations, agencies and bodies.

As a Malaysian, I am glad and truly feel proud for the wave of "humane" feelings unleashed by the tragic waves of a horrific nature!

However, taking cognisance of the number of such 'funds' being set up by a plethora of 'concerned' entities, I can only, but, wonder how coordination and accountability is to be enforced in ensuring that the donations collected truly reach those that are in dire need of such essential assistance.

It is hoped that the relevant authorities will undertake the necessary steps to oversee and coordinate disbursement of the funds collected and that proper accounting be done.

This by no means infer negative aspersions on the noble deeds being carried out by caring souls all over the country as a consequence of this very tragic incident, but, is simply a plea for transparency and accountability, facets of procedures that are quite often abused by those out to seek unholy advantage!

Keep up the noble effort, but, please, let's do it right!
