I refer to your report Saman terhadap Petronas diteruskan .
I am very surprised that the suit , originally filed by the PAS-led Terengganu government, is still being pursued by the current Umno Trengganu government.
Previously, PAS had no choice but to pursue the case but now with the state back under Umno, why all this high noon drama? It would be amusing except that taxpayers' money and the court's time is being wasted.
I think it will cost less then RM5 for the Terengganu menteri besar to pick up a phone and call the prime minister and put his case across as to why Petronas shold resume its oil royalty payments to the state.
I am totally at a lost why this case is being pursued now. I hope that the parties involved, that is the Terengganu state government, Petronas and the Federal government, will end up with eggs on their faces should the court rules in favour of the original PAS suit.
That will most certainly give PAS a morale boosting victory. If that happens then it will be like what they say in Malay, 'padan muka, kena sebiji'.
