Sometimes we are not strong enough to fight our deadly enemies. But if we are united our combined effort will knock them down. There is a saying, ‘United we stand, divided we fall’. We can give several examples of the power of unity. Power lies in unity, not in diversity. The straw pieces twisted together can bind an elephant. We can break individual sticks easily. But we cannot break all the sticks bound together. Such a poor binding is really full of advantages for us.
Unity is the state of being together. All of us would be still uncivilised if there wasn’t unity to be seen. We have to be together to make a whole, which can show a way to success or victory. Perhaps, it’s possible to survive as a single, but no one can make it till the end, perfectly.
In fact, there would be no schools if there were just less than 10 students. Meanwhile, having a great amount only be maintained if there is unity among them. Or else it won’t be possible to bring up a proper school when everyone is disunited. Apart from those, even in sports, teamwork is required. Precisely, teamwork is a part of unity, being a team joined with different people to achieve a goal and working as one group.
This also brings peace and development. If we have good relationship with others, our enemies can’t take advantage. It always drives peace. If there is peace the development works can run smoothly throughout the country. Nowadays, we have a glimmer of peace but the development works haven’t been run as usual. Because of lack of political stability and wrong ideology, people are being divided into groups in the name of region, castes and religions.
There wouldn’t be delicacy in life unless there’s happiness. Happiness wouldn’t be in a life, inside a soul, if there’s no rest, peace, justice, love and enjoyment. Partly, money is also necessary as that is responsible for our position in the society and a way to enrich our lives. But leading a solitary life cannot bring all these things to a person. But also, these won’t be brought up even if in the society, unless the unity among the members in the society is strong.
Fairly in words, unity’s strength improves everything. Today we are firmly united. We differ from one another in many ways. But still we are all Malaysians. Our National Flag unites us all. We are ready to fight as a nation. If we can’t help each other, who will?
