Are the voices urging change for a better and cleaner government or a perfect government?

The opposition is always under pressure not only from Umno/BN ruling government but also those from the public urging change.

We often hear this warning to the opposition, “If you don’t listen to us and do what we want we will not vote for you or kick you out of the state government.” Think about this, and have you wondered why Umno/BN which allegedly practice their ‘don’t care’ and ‘do as they like’ attitude can still rule for nearly six decades?

Those urging change have no affirmation that the present Umno/BN government must go but are leaving an ultimatum for the opposition if they want to form the federal government.

They want a new government that is totally different from Umno/BN yet they are not giving the opposition a chance to form one first. They want to ensure that when an opposition coalition is installed at federal level it would be a perfect government, hence they keep pressuring the opposition to show them how they can be different. How to they do that when they are yet to form the federal government?

There can be no such thing as preparing a coalition ready to form a perfect government. It is the attitude of ‘better the devil you know than the devil you don’t’ that change will never come.

The opposition has formed two state governments, Penang and Selangor, and they are not perfect but surely they are better and cleaner compared to the Umno/BN federal government.

If you truly wanted change you just have to take the risk as there can never be a 100 percent perfect solution for any coalition formation. The opposition should be well aware that they are in disarray and infighting within their parties and must do something about it fast. We just have to leave it to them to resolve their problems and not pour more fuel onto the burning fire.

A coalition in disarray and with infighting does not really have a problem in forming a government as long as they know what is right and wrong in governing. Do you want a united coalition like Umno/BN that unites only to care about themselves, protecting and habouring culprits having scandal after scandal with billions of ringgit missing every now and then?

The door for opportunity of change is closing fast or it has already closed as you can see how the present ruling government is formulating all sorts of laws to strengthen and tighten their grip on power.

Sometimes we have to act a little stupid and think narrowly if we want change with a firm mindset that Umno/BN must go and be replaced with the present available alternative, Pakatan Harapan. To wait for a third force would be suicidal and Umno/BN will rule forever.

The clarion call for change must be absolute without any other thoughts or suspicions from the public, while the opposition must get cracking to resolve whatever problems they are facing now.

No matter how much you wanted it, you cannot get a perfect government but only a better and cleaner government over the present one.
