It’s always the same cycle, the same plot twist, and the same drama. Every time a celebrity comes to Malaysia (the one that’s ‘too sexy’ to be here) to perform a concert, one political party will voice their dissatisfaction. And then the statement made will be countered by another party and it goes on and on.
As a citizen of Malaysia, I find it somewhat ridiculous that our political figures are wasting time climbing their way up into making headlines over whose statements are well-deserving of the trophy.
Maybe the Kinabatangan MP, Bung Moktar Radin, should stop enforcing his ‘open-mindedness’ on others and start doing something about allowing the Muslims to enter nightclubs. After all it was he who hoped that our youths won’t follow Selena Gomez’s lifestyle.
What about the statements made by DAP Socialist Youth (Dapsy) implying that PAS had pulled a cheap public stunt and that they should have voice out their disagreements sooner? Even if PAS did, the public would still be furious. Remember the power of social media?
This is the voice of a citizen. A citizen who can’t keep her thoughts to herself (sing into the rhythm of Selena Gomez’s ‘Hands to Myself’). I wish to see our politicians get their hands dirty and invest more on the welfare of the people instead of winning some arguments that wouldn’t matter in a month’s time. Seeing our political figures living the cat and dog life reflects their intelligence. And the citizens of Malaysia will always get caught in the crossfire.
