The Malaysian Medical Council has the right to ensure the quality of doctors being produced by local or foreign universities. By de-recognising Ukraine's Crimea State Medical University because of it's dubious entry requirements, it should be applauded.

However, not all of the blames must fall on CSMU. How did our Art streams student obtain their 'no objection certificates' to study there from the Education Ministry?

And what are the guidelines that the MMC employs in selecting their doctors especially those from foreign countries? Working in the health service, I have come across many foreign doctors with questionable ethics.

How could they filter through MMC scrutiny if the latter are very concerned about public safety? Is it a matter of convenience or is the MMC really concerned?

Not all people are cut out to be doctors. It may require some brains but mainly it is the attitude. I hope that the politicians know that their doctors don't differentiate between race or religion when treating a patient at 2 or 3am in the morning.

Maybe they should just stop this 'sandiwara' (shadow play) and get to the bottom of more important things like transparency, accountability and national integration.
