We are witnessing, yet again, a rerun of Islam-bashing in the light of the London attacks and British Prime Minister Tony Blair has promised that he, US President George W Bush and their other allies will pull up the roots of terrorism.

The way I see it, terrorism can end tomorrow if Washington, London, Madrid and Moscow could just change their behaviour in particular, their pandering and kowtowing to Tel Aviv.

We all know that many people in the world today are living on lands either stolen from their forefathers or made part of another country after the big powers redrew the borders following their victory in the First and the Second World Wars.

They included the Palestinians, the Catholic Northern Irish, the Basques (whose country is now part of Spain and France), the Chechens, the Kashmiris (who are now part of India and Pakistan), the Tibetans, the Muslims of Mindanao, southern Thailand and Aceh as well many people in Africa and Eastern Europe like the Abkhazians and Ingusthians.

The lands of the Palestinians were clearly stolen from them thanks to the Balfour Declaration. With further support from the big powers, Israel further took the Golan Heights, Sinai, the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

But through circumstantial good fortune the Kosovans, the Bangladeshis, the Timur Lestians and now the Kurds have got back their countries.

Thus we have in this world today a lot of angry and unhappy people who, out of desperation, will do anything to attract world attention to force a change in policy in Washington, London, Moscow and the capitals of the other big powers.

Although all investigations into the London blasts are directed towards Islamic elements, the British government should not ignore the Irish Republican Army or the remnants of the IRA. After all, the Oklahoma bombings were carried out by an American.
