That perennial race card trumpeter in Parliament was at it again recently, this time urging all that oppose Malaysia being Islamic state to leave the country.
Actually, I think it is the MP concerned who should leave Parliament as being an MP, he should know the Constitution inside out and protect it at all cost.
Actually I don't give a monkey whether Malaysia is a Islamic state or not. The fiasco and confusion with that terminology and claim lies with no other then the former PM who out of the blue made the declaration one day in order to be more Islamic than PAS.
The same ex-PM is also responsible for many other fiascos such as Perwaja, Proton, Approved Permits and the national service scheme for which he blames many others now. Apparently, his ministers did not listen to him.
My point is that Malaysia is not an Islamic state based on the actual and practical happenings in this country. There are activities banned in Islam like dabbling in money politics, corruption and spreading lies like claiming to being a developed state when one is not.
So Mr MP, can you please enlighten me how Malaysia could be an Islamic state when such blatant acts are splashed across the papers but with no action taken? Maybe we are Islamic state, but it is a matter of law for some and a matter of interpretation for others.
This is why the society and public will always be left wondering. This will continue when there is such diverse discriminatory enforcement of the laws, especially when it involves people in the higher rungs of society.
