Over the last few months, Parti Keadilan Rakyat seems to have lost its focus as a political party and has developed into a cult. All I hear about the party is when Anwar Ibrahim is in town for that's when the entire party machinery gathers to cheer his presence.
What has the party achieved that is significant to Malaysian politics and the people? Parliament seems to forgotten that there is an MP from Permatang Pauh. The sole Keadilan representative who is its president, seems to miss nearly entire parliamentary sessions.
She is a reluctant politician who entered politics just to secure the constituency of her husband and secondly, the party she represents doesn't have an ideology or stand within the context of Malaysian politics.
I read your news about Anwar Ibrahim's long march to become the prime minister of Malaysia. As far as I see, looking at the state of affairs in the party, it is going be a very, very long walk for him.
Let me just pick a few issues which cropped up during the last few months. Where was Keadilan during the CSMU crisis when hundreds of students were denied justice? What about the oil price increases? What about the issue of justice for Prof Terence Gomez (before he was reinstated) and Prof P Ramasamy?
The list goes on and as far as I am concerned, issuing sporadic press statements and lodging pointless police reports does not justify the existence of a relevant political party.
Another significant issue here is Ayah Pin and his Sky Kingdom. Until today we have yet to hear a single comment from Keadilan on the issue. This from a party that claims to be a bastion of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
It is a clear that Keadilan - in the matter of Sky Kingdom - is just a silent supporter of PAS and is even willing to ignores their own party ideals. It is clear that this party only exists to consolidate votes for PAS with its so-called multiracial facade.
It is also worrying to look at Keadilan's politicking in that it is acting to empower PAS to enable the latter to realise its agenda of establishing an Islamic state. For this, Keadilan will be 'the mask' of PAS.
PAS already invited Anwar to lead the opposition front, ie, Barisan Alternatif. PAS knows that Keadilan will agree to every single thing Anwar says without question.
