I refer to Ida Bakar letter Non-returning doctors: Who are the traitors?

It is extremely amusing to read a letter trying to paint white something that is so obviously black. The issue is not on sending the students overseas.

The issue is with non-conformance on the part of these students/doctors and their obligation to a contract between them and the Public Services Department. You breach the contract, you pay the penalties.

In fact, I would argue that these students/doctors should even be made to pay for liquidated damages as the government actually loses a lot of money not to mention losing opportunity costs by the act of these non-returnees.

The money is better spent on someone who is willing to return and contribute to the nation. All I can say to these non-returnees is this that they can be best described as 'kacang lupakan kulit' (ungrateful).

The people (PSD money is the rakyat's money) have spent a lot of money in sending you overseas and your non-conformance to your obligation is shameful. The rakyat do not owe you anything. It is you who owe the rakyat your services.
