I refer to the letter Minister should ban malaysiakini .
Obviously the writer comes from a absolutist political/philosophical framework. What she doesn't like to hear, should be banned. I would suggest something more simple that just banning a website just because it offends a few individuals with dictatorial instincts: why not just stop logging on to malaysiakini?
No body's forcing you to read it. Or better still, move to some other part of world where fascist tendencies are celebrated. The fact that malaysiakini printed your letter is a credit to them. They are open to all views, not just yours or mine. I dare you to get any of the government-owned propaganda newspapers to publish a letter challenging the minister to shut them down.
As for the writer of the letter Malaysiakini 'a poison' to country , your three-year stay here has not improved your shallow understanding of the roots and foundations of Malaysia. What racial and religious harmony are you referring to?
Just because everything seems calm on the surface presently does not mean everything is fine and dandy in Bolehland. You obviously haven't been here long enough to witness the racial tensions when things turn sour i.e. May 1969 and more recently Kampong Dato Harun in Old Klang Road.
The clear distinctions of race and religion which you glorify in your letter have been a cause of this. By the way, "divide and rule" by race was a favourite past time of the British colonials during Malaysia's pre-independence days. Didn't you mention you are a citizen of this faded colonial power?
