I am sure most Malaysians who have read the news report about the Chinese national's ordeal at the hands of the police would be disgusted at the alleged misconduct of these custodians of the law. Even with a proper passport and marriage certificate, a foreign lady is subjected to such humiliation. It is unbelievable. How can she ever trust our police?

Such incidents have been reported before and I do not see why anyone would accuse the police of such shameful behaviour if they were untrue.

This comes so soon after the Royal Commission's less than favourable report on the police force. With the glare of negative publicity due to police brutality, corruption and countless types of misdeeds, the temerity of such behaviour shows that some police personnel are beyond redemption.

My heart goes out to women, both local and foreign, who happen to attract the attention of such scum in the police force who also tarnish the image of their good colleagues. As more and more cases are exposed, people are wondering if the initial arrests were genuine or for their sexual gratification?

Is it any wonder that there is a drastic drop in Chinese tourists after they are treated with disrespect and even humiliated? Even Chinese businessmen would not invest in our country having heard so much of our corrupted police force.
