My family's mother-tongue is Malayalam. Can the education system in this country accommodate that? Can Mathematics and Science be taught to my children and similarly other Malayalee children in their mother-tongue, which is Malayalam?
How about the Punjabis, the Bengalis, and other minorities? In this country, it is assumed that every Indian is a Tamil and therefore the mother-tongue language is Tamil.
I support the teaching of Mathematics and Science in English. If possible, the whole education system should revert to English as it was before in the 1970s.
Why do you think there are so many unemployed graduates around? Their main weakness and drawback is their inability to communicate in English.
The VIPs (ministers and their like) and the well-to-do in this country educate their children overseas in prestigious colleges and universities but the same people will argue in Parliament (for publicity's sake and political mileage) that priority should be given to the teaching of Bahasa Malaysia. How ironic.
