The prime minister has finally commented on Deputy Internal Security Minister Noh Omar's "Go home, foreigners" comment. Despite saying that Noh's remark was inappropriate and against government policy, despite saying that government servants, deputy ministers included, should be more sensitive and careful, the PM has decided to just give Noh a light slap on the wrist.

Now, we know Pak Lah is a soft-spoken gentleman but when the need arises he knows when to take action. Remember what he did when a MIC deputy minister criticised government policy over the de-recognition of Crimea State Medical University (CSMU) medical degrees some months ago? He immediately suspended S Sothinathan for a period of three months.

Notice any similarity between Sohinathan's statements and Noh's? If yes, why the kid gloves treatment this time around, Pak Lah?
