I refer to the letter Stop publishing politically explosives articles by Ray.

Malaysiakini has been an arena for publishing politically explosive articles. I support them for having the courage to do so. Only with a free press will our people be more educated and our politicians more accountable for their actions.

Maybe Ray could ask himself why are the articles explosive? Are these articles from 'Ripley's Believe It or Not?' No. They are issues that concern our people and society and as such should be brought out into the public. They are not yours or my concern only but everyone's.

We as the citizens of Malaysia deserve to know the opinion of others in this country. It is part of the process of increasing the maturity of our citizens. To develop the ability to listen to both sides and decide for ourselves which is right and which is wrong from an impartial (ideally) point of view.

Since the riots of 1969, Malaysians have always been in the 'peacekeeper mode'. We want to preserve peace at any cost. On the surface, Malaysians live harmoniously but there are many silent voices of disenchantment. As such there is a need for an outlet to let of the steam.

Not publishing these 'politically explosive articles' will be akin to snuffing out the symptoms. Without these symptoms, we will never be able to find the root causes of disharmony in our society.

And since it is Ray's belief that non-Muslims have a biased view of Islam, it would be a great help if he could work towards correcting this.
