I refer to the letter Stop publishing politically explosives articles by Ray.

I do not agree that malaysiakini should stop publishing 'explosive' issues as seen by the writer. The writer perceived that the recent news on M Moorthy and ear-squat incident are racial in nature. He is utterly wrong. In both cases, there were a number of Malay and Islamic groups who spoke up openly against the injustices exposed by the incidents.

In Moorthy's case, they were very much against the treatment of the deceased's wife. Similarly, most of them supported Seputeh MP Teresa Kok in exposing the ear-squat incident. It is rather heartwarming to see the rakyat regardless of race or religion coming together to right a wrong which could have affected any one of us.

Malaysiakini is one of the rare voices for us, the helpless and powerless Malaysians. I quote from one of its reports headlined Cops grope daughter's buttocks, throw mum in jail : 'I am just a single mother with no one to help us (at the time). If we are harassed by the police, who do we turn to?'

Do they turn to Umno and MCA-controlled press? More often than not, they would just write a short report and the issue would be forgotten in a wink of an eye. Only malaysiakini cares to follow up on the case.

For the sake of justice, malaysiakini should go on reporting all the news truthfully without fear or favour.
