With reference to the late M Moorthy's case, I wonder whether his change of religion was listed in his MyKad? This would be interesting to know.

Anyway, the the Malaysian Consultative Council for Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism and Sikhism (MCCBCHS) apart from having vigils and calling for amendments to the federal constitution, should also meet the prime minister and other non-Muslim cabinet ministers to ensure that there is no repeat of the Moorthy episode in Malaysia again.

PAS and Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) , including Anwar Ibrahim, should also state their respective stands on Moorthy's case and whether they are agreeable inter alia for an amendment of Article 121(1A) of the federal constitution. This is not an Indian Malaysian issue only but a national one.

By the same token, MCA, MIC, Gerakan, the Peoples' Progressive Party together with other component parties of the BN must state to Umno without fear or favour their stand with regards for an amendment to Article 121(1A) of the constitution .

Apart from the Moorthy's case, non-Muslims have even been losing their rights to keep pet dogs in their homes ( Unreasonable MBSA regulations on dogs ).

Let's ponder what JF Kennedy (a former US president) once said: 'Our problems are man-made, therefore they may be solved by man. No problem of human destiny is beyond human beings''.
