I would like to point out something on the suggestion to boycott Danish products as a result of the current cartoon controversy. While its (boycotts') devastation is less compare to a war, it is nonetheless devastating to its victims.

What more is that it lacks precision in the sense that, if executed effectively, it affects all whose livelihoods depend on Danish companies and economy regardless if they actually subscribe to the negative perceptions of Muslims as depicted in the cartoons.

On PRI (Public Radio International) a couple of days ago, PRI interviewed a Danish butter producer that had to shut down its productions because it was losing over 60 percent of its revenue due to boycotts in the Middle East against Danish butter. Imagine the live of the factory workers and their families affected. Are all these people anti-Islam?

Often, it is all to easy to strike out in anger. However, I do sincerely hope that cooler minds will prevail and positive dialogues together with healthy debates will eventually advance our mutual understanding.
