There's so much publicity on the petrol subsidy and how the government will spend the RM4.4 billion saved as a result of the recent fuel price hike. As I understand it, the RM4.4 billion is a year's saving for the government from the fuel subsidy.
If this is the case, shouldn't the savings for the Ninth Malaysia Plan be a minimum of RM22 billion ( RM4.4 x 5 years ) assuming there's no or minimal increase in fuel consumption?
Pak Lah is very happy to tell the rakyat how the RM4.4 billion is going to be spent but forgets about the other RM17.6 billion over the next four years which no one seems interested. Why?
