I refer to your report Lovebirds nest at DBKL .

I applaud DAP Youth's effort in organising such loveable, harmless, 'anti-violence' kind of protest. I think it was a good initiative. But I think this harmless protest would have had much more impact if the participants transcended all races and colour to show a common cause.

Like the recent petrol price hike protests, DAP Youth should have put more effort in involving more NGOs and people from more varied backgrounds. From reading your report, I can only conclude the participants comprised only the organisers and DAP parliamentarians and were all of only one race.

And I don't understand why the organisers used a banner with Chinese writing for such a protest? I thought it was supposed to be a common cause? So the scenario is that you have a Chinese couple who has been judged wrong for indecent behavior and an opposition political party, organising a protest comprising only of Chinese.

The protest may not have been for one particular race but the fact is that DAP has allowed every opportunity to be accused of just that.

Be that as it may, I also think the malaysiakini report on the event was biased and protective. The poor turnout was not reflected in the report. There was no mention of who attended the protest (apart from DAP Youth organisers), the number of protesters, the actual ground-level response etc.

Your report kept harping on the comments of only a few, less than five people I think but who knows the exact number present? You didn't bother to report it.
