I refer to your report Police 'attack' IPCMC in internal bulletin .

It is natural and human for the police force to object to the formation of the IPCMC. Certainly they want to operate with full and unbridled power. Who doesn't want such power? They have enjoyed and are still enjoying this unbridled power and we ask what is the result? The result is abuses, abuses of all sorts.

As Malaysians, we feel ashamed of the behaviour of our police force whom we have lost all confidence in. Their behaviour is indeed a black eye for our beloved nation. How can they then continue to have this unlimited power and operate unprofessionally? The Royal Police Commission was absolutely right in their wisdom to recommend the formation of the IPCMC and I am sure it was not recommended to make the police ineffective.

After all, the uniform services, particularly the enforcement divisions, must subscribe to the control of their civilian masters. In that way, there will be a check and balance. I am sure the public want the police to operate in a professional way to instil utter confidence in a force that is so important to our well-being.

Instead of viewing the whole exercise of forming the IPCMC as a way to have a positive professional police force, they are now resorting to threatening not to vote for the BN, resigning en bloc, working to rule, etc.

Isn't this another display of their un-professionalism? Please remember this one simple fact - the police work for the people and are paid by the people. The Royal Police Commission's IPCMC recommendation is to improve their efficiency not otherwise. So we expect them to comply. Those who cannot can opt for early retirement and good riddance.
