Dr Azly Rahman in Stop fighting, help the Indians , is perhaps the first Malay teaching the Indians (Hindus) of their own language and scriptures - the Bhagavad Gita! Indeed he is great for having read so well of all the scriptures that the Almighty God has given to humankind through the various Great Masters from time to time so that man will learn for the better.
But sadly this is never the case. Man cannot learn from history though he studies history. He must fight and die to experience the pain and misery and all for temporary gain in this life.
The essence of the Bhagavad Gita is to live a honourable and righteous live so that everyone on this earth will be happy and contented. But this will not be the case because we still have desire, greed. anger, lust, jealousy envy, etc That is Man. He must become Divine but he cannot be until he forgoes all these evil qualities and negativities.
The Gita says, "We came into this with nothing and we will go with nothing". Therefore be righteous with whatever we do in this sojourn. In concluding, I wish to quote what Sai Baba says as a universal philosophy for humankind.
There is only one religion - the religion of love
There is only one language - the language of heart
There is only one race - the race of humanity
There is only one god - the God omnipresent.
If all people can realise this, half the battle of living peacefully in this world is won.
