Dr Azly Rahman is spot on. I just hope that there are more people out there like him who can see poverty as a national problem, beyond the blinkers of race and religion.
The Umno opportunists have hijacked the second prong of the NEP - to wipe out poverty irrespective of race - and the MIC leaders must have the courage to confront them.
We need a new generation of leaders to do this. It is sad to see Samy Vellu sell out the Indians. He has done this so that Umno does not disturb his turf.
