I refer to your report Bloody Sunday inquiry: No decision by Suhakam .

It is a real shocker that the Human Rights Commission has said that it needs more evidence to pursue an inquiry into the Bloody Sunday incident. To rub salt into the wound, it said that it was awaiting police investigations into the matter. The IGP has already spoken on the matter and there is no need for any police investigation into alleged police misconduct and abuse. According to the IGP, the police used 'minimal force' and acted in 'self-defence'.

I think the evidence that Suhakam is looking for is a death certificate or a funeral. After all, it already has pictures of bloody Malaysians and hospital reports and bills and video footage and photographs of a man on the road being kicked and beaten 'Anwar style'. So what other evidence is Suhakam asking for apart from a death, a dead body?

Pak Lah or Mahathir Mohamad, this is silencing dissent BN-style. It's all the same. Whoever is at the helm, if the rakyat protest against the BN government policies, they will be beaten and thrown in jail. Mahathir is as guilty as Pak Lah in putting down dissent or opposing views in the name of peace. We therefore expect no great reformation with this BN government.
