I refer to the letter by Vellusamy Kounder , a good example on how to toady the powers-that-be while murmuring sweet nothing. Just as Hamlet's uncle poured poison into his father's ear while he slept, killing him. We've all met characters like him, who speak softly while murmuring murderous prose.

Obviously, Samy has tried to kill off Subramaniam, at least twice, by not nominating him in the national elections, first in 1989 (this was got around by Subramaniam's appointment to the Senate and then a deputy minister's post) and then again denying him nomination in 2003 (the Senate route was not available as he had served two terms already there).

Hasn't President Samy, abused his position in denying his deputy such a nomination, not once but twice? So it is ludicrous to suggest that Subramaniam has had "everything handed to him on a golden platter"

Next, Najib a "matured politician, patient, kindly and magnanimous"? Yeah, the man who told a crowd near the Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall, that krises would be dipped in blood. Oh yeah, matured, patient, kindly and magnanimous. Two plus two equals five.

On another issue, has Samy answered the query made in Parliament, regarding an alleged RM6 million mansion occupied by a mystery woman, for which a malaysiakini reporter was verbally abused by Samy's press secretary?

When Indians are increasingly marginalised, the political responsibility stops at one man's door - the man who has claimed that "business and politics must mix" and that "I know how to talk to gangsters". One wonders where he got that kind of savvy and yet seems hapless and helpless to provide strong leadership and vision for the Indian masses here, although that doesn't keep him from waxing rich and famous himself.

Finally, Kounder says it is time for this and time for that vis-a-vis Najib and Subramaniam. I'm afraid, Mr Kounder, at best you have been economical with the truth.
