Second Link still an obstacle to crooked bridge
Charles F Moreira Jul 4, 06 3:58pm
I refer to the letter Crooked bridge would have brought in billions.

If building the crooked bridge would enable ships to sail directly from the port of Pasir Gudang to the port of Tanjung Pelepas, I'd be all for it.

However, look at this map.

The ships would have to sail under the Second Link to ply between the two ports and from my personal observation, the bridge at the Second Link is not high enough for anything but small watercraft like launches and yachts. Larger cargo vessels, super tankers and cruise liners will have still have to sail around Singapore.

Next time you cross the second crossing to Singapore just see for yourself if a typical ocean going ship can go under it.

The Second Link is no Lions Gate, Golden Gate, Oakland Bay or Sydney Harbour Bridge.
