After reading Mustapha Ong's Malaysiankini writer must be deported , I enthusiastically clicked to read Dean Johns' article hoping to find some 'juicy' or harsh comments implied against him by Mustapha.

To my disappointment, I found it was short, straight to the point, fair comment, diplomatic and if I would say, gentle but boring. Ceh! Wasted my time! But I would conclude it is Mustapha's letter that is rude, bias, hostile, narrow-minded and offensive. It is people like him that put us in third last place for being polite.

I don't know who Dean Johns is but I believe that even as foreigner, he still has the right to freedom of speech. It is never wrong to learn something good from any human being from any part of this world.

When I was in England a few years ago and me being a nobody and a Malaysian and all that, I wrote a letter to Tony Blair criticising his intention to adopt an EU legislation against discrimination which I found not practical. He wrote back and thanked me for the comment and said he would look into it.

At least Johns takes an interest in our culture and politics rather than some foreigners who only know where to eat, swim and buy cheap watches. I guess it is not Johns that should be deported but Mustapha Ong that needs to be 'transported' to some remote island safe from malaysiankini's writers.
