I refer to your report Say 'tak nak' to lavish complex, PM told .

Training our athletes in England? Pray, do tell, what sport does England excel in today? Darts, did I hear one say? Good exposure for our beer bellied sports enthusiasts then. I cannot, for the life of me, think of a more ridiculous idea for our Sports Ministry to suggest.

Rest assured that inflation will catch up with the initial construction cost; this is a common phenomena in the British construction industry. RM500 million would most likely not be sufficient. Look up the records on the inadequate initial budget for some projects in the UK; the Olympics preparations would be a clue.

I am certainly lost for words to express my utmost disappointment that such an idea could have gone this far. It should have been thrown back into the face of the person who suggested it. Hang on, is there a catch here somewhere? Am I missing a point somehow?

For God's sake, for us to beat Singapore in football nowadays is considered an achievement! The state of sepak takraw? It was getting to be boring years ago because all we had to do was to turn up at the court to win the SEA Games gold; the Thais were no match.

Would training them in England bring back the medals that were staple once upon a time? And I don't remember the late Mokhtar Dahari, R Arumugam, Soh Chin Aun, Santokh Singh being trained anywhere else but at home to ensure the successes of our football team then.
