I refer to your report Say 'tak nak' to lavish complex, PM told .

This RM490 million sports academy idea is utter nonsense. You can't even provide proper sport facilities in Malaysia. Why then do we need to build a facility in the most expensive country in the world?

The weakness of our sports development is in the school system, the education policy that does not help to develop talent in sport. The policy wants the young kids and youth to excel in their exams.

To policy wants to develop bookworms and robots. Which school is helping a kid in Standard Six to start to pick a sport in which he likely to excel in? The school only wants him or her to get 6As or 5As, nothing less.

In Form 1 or 2, they have no time for recreational or sports activities. If the kids are talented in sports, these two years kills off their enthusiasm.

These are issues society and the youth and sports minister have to solve before building a sports academy in a foreign country.
