l refer to the tragic slaughter of Eng Her Sun's 13 dogs in Seremban recently. These poor harmless dogs, through no fault of their own, were tragically slaughtered in cold blood. This is absolutely barbaric and unnecessary.

Eng was obviously an animal hoarder who unintentionally failed to realise that the situation was getting out of hand. Nevertheless, Eng's dogs should have been spayed/neutered and placed up for adoption.

Dogs are wonderful companions who want nothing more than to please and give comfort to their owners. Here in new Zealand, we have therapy dogs which visit hospitals and give comfort to patients.

The Malaysian government needs to put into place more stringent animal welfare protection laws to stop such cruelty from ever occurring again.
