The prime minister has broken his 'elegant silence' and has pour out his heart and soul on the numerous allegations against him in a no-holds barred interview with the chairman of Bernama on national television on Monday night.

One can only hope that his chief critic would stop the slander against the present premier as nobody gains if two giants of politics are locked in a political battle. It will benefit no one but only the opposition.

With the Ninth Malaysia Plan already in the implementation stage, I am sure the prime minister need to focus his energy on the successful implementation of the projects which should benefit the public as a whole.

The prime minister does not need to be distracted by petty politics raised by his opponents as eventually the public will decide at the next general elections whether his promises were implemented during his tenure of office.

There is a lot of catching up to do in order for our country to be a well-developed nation come 2020 and it is best that we focus on developing our country to be a better place for our children and grandchildren rather than being armchair critics who always find fault with everything the government does.
