Why have there been so many complaints about AirAsia here in malaysiakini , the champion of free expression?

Though it is far from perfect, AirAsia has enable many Malaysians (and others too) to fly as never before. The scenes at airports are now reminiscent of bus stations, as ordinary people come in to savour the joys of flying.

And as at the bus stations, there are all sorts of people representative of the Malaysian spectrum. Whereas in the not-too-distant past, flying was the preserve of the 'upper crust', now one more bastion has fallen to the masses. This is a good development for the country.

The service at the AirAsia check-in counters are adequate considering the queues and those inconsiderate queue-jumpers. The AirAsia staff may not appear as sophisticated as those of MAS but one should appreciate their down-to-earth efficiency, not the exotic looks.

Why the typical meanness against AirAsia? Is it borne out of jealousy? One would expect lots of goodwill for such an innovative set-up.
