Pak Lah seems to be the perfect gentleman, a man of principles and full of religious convictions. This image must have contributed significantly to the BN's resounding victory in the last general elections.

The coalition must have also done so well because the people were honestly glad to be rid of all the nepotism, cronyism, corruption and abuse of power associated with previous administration. Well, almost three years has passed and it can't be denied that disillusionment has set in and things can only go downhill for the government.

Certain quarters have accused Pak Lah's family members of wrongdoings and instead of doing something about it, he sits back and pretend all is rosy. Worse still, he comes out defending and giving excuses for what his family is or is not doing.

This is like going back to the old days when (Tun) Dr Mahathir Mohamad used to plead as a father that just because he is the prime minister, surely we don't expect his kids to be deprived of work opportunities.

So nothing has changed really and isn't it ironic that Tun himself has exploited this situation to further weaken the government by accusing Pak Lah's administration of nepotism? Pak Lah should make a stand and tell his family that enough is enough. National interest overrides all other interests, and family and personal interests have to be sacrificed at times.

And superson-in-law and superson, do the honorable thing and get out now for the sake of your father and the rakyat.

History will record your noble deeds forever.
