We applaud her decision to stay, whether we agree with her or not. Letter writer Carpenter's words (in his letter Lina Joy, better to leave country) is to say that if you cannot fit in, you must leave. We should agree to disagree, whether the highest court in the land agrees with her or not.
This is her country, why should she leave? Those that cannot agree with her are also free to stay, why not her. Should there be any backlash against her or other communities, then it is to the law of the land to deal with it. Whether it is effective or not is another matter. The simplistic approach of surrendering is no solution.
