I have experienced what Dr Jeffrey Chiang is suffering. I went through the whole process of just getting a six-month visa for my Taiwanese wife. During that period, my wife was not allowed to leave the country. Each time we asked about the status of the application, the answer is "belum siap" (not done yet).

The attitude of one of them by the name Wan was atrocious. She used to raised her voice at us, "Kamu berurusan dengan saya atau siapa?" (Do you want to deal with me or someone else?). It seems that she is the 'queen' of Immigration in Seremban. I was amazed how they could have display a slogan of providing 'world class' service in their department.

Finally one day, my wife went to see one of the heads in Seremban Immigration. She was given a six-month visa after having waited for 11 months. She then went back to Taiwan and never wanted to come back to Malaysia. Our country does not welcome foreign wives, regardless their qualification. They only welcome tourists and those of second-home programme who can spend money here.
