I feel terribly denigrated by Helen Ang's recent hatred views towards Islam and Muslims through her ludicrous stance on Zionism and terrorism.
In the name of non-compulsion of religion, I can never understand why a well-educated columnist of a free media can manipulate the unfortunate 'racist slant' circumstance at BTN (Biro Tatanegara) and mix it with the current ever growing confusion of world terrorism and Middle East conflicts to misconstrue the perception of faith and conviction of Muslims to malaysiakini readers.
In her Local ambivalence to terrorism? , she has brought up one of the most blatant Islamophobic accusations malaysiakini has ever seen. As if number is the sole identifier to acclaim truth, she asserted that because 'Islamic terrorists' is google-indexed hundreds of times higher than 'Buddhist terrorists', Muslims are proved to be the only faith group whose followers are high in percentage in tendency to commit heinous crime to humanity compared to the rest.
Has she ever read malaysiakini columnists Azly Rahman's or Josh Hong's articles on the powerful Zionist lobby and media enclaves which distorts truth from the public and accords power to influence the masses only to the mightiest, orchestrated for the most bigoted agenda of destroying Al-Aqsa mosque (to build Jewish Haykal temple) and stealing Palestinian lands?
Her Freudian slip has exposed her inner-hatred towards the Muslims because she chooses the term 'Islamic terrorist' instead of 'Muslim terrorist'. With ultimate due respect of the multi-religious reader base of malaysiakini , I urge Ang to prove anything Islamic out of the act of killing innocents, from the Quran, the Prophetic Traditions, without disregarding the contexts of the scriptures and narrations, and the consensus and understanding of Muslim scholars.
Whatever term which has the word Islamic (other than Islamic banking and finance) on it is branded as unfriendly, and I ever imagined if Ang join George Bush's recent ' Let's destroy the proliferation of Islamic fascism once and for all ' club. American aggression is seen as a myth rather than reality, and linguistically sophisticated terms do play significant roles in mustering public opinion through one's agenda.

In her Flight from normalcy article , she ridicules the British Muslims' idea of 'being a Muslim first' such that it is seen as an antidote to inter-religious tolerance. Helen's attempt to persuade the readers into thinking being Muslim first as an equivalent of treating the non-Muslim as second-class creatures, together with some isolated cases of few British Muslims' shortcomings to further highlight this prejudice, is sickening. Islam teaches us to respect the leadership of those in power and honour the rights of others, not exclusionism and vigilantism.
